Job summary

Shetland Islands Council is seeking a Supervisory Assistant for Urafirth Primary School in Heylor to supervise pupils during break times, assist in the dining hall and playground, and support overall pupil safety and conduct in line with local authority procedures.

This permanent part-time post is 5.0 hours per week, 39 weeks per year plus pro rata holiday; PVG scheme membership is required. The rate includes Distant Islands Allowance; relocation is not offered.

Qualifications

• AB grade considered.
• Part-time role: 5.0 hours per week, 39 weeks per year plus pro rata holiday.
• PVG membership or PVG update required.
• This vacancy does not meet UK visa sponsorship requirements.

Responsibilities

• Supervise pupils during break periods.
• Assist with dining hall, playground and school premises supervision.
• Carry out ancillary duties (e.g., tidy spillages, ensure tables are clean) to maintain good order and discipline.
