Job summary

East Huntspill Primary School, part of Pathway Trust, seeks a permanent learning support colleague to assist with classroom activities and resource preparation. The role focuses on supporting pupils with additional needs and delivering pre-planned lessons to small groups, with liaison to families and external agencies.

The position runs term time plus two INSET days, on Mondays and Tuesdays. Commitment to safeguarding and professional development is essential.

Qualifications

• GCSE grade 4 or above in Maths and English or Level 2 equivalent.
• Experience supporting pupils with individual needs, particularly additional needs.
• Ability to work independently and adapt to changing needs.
• Confident delivering pre-planned lessons to small groups.
• Clear verbal and written communication; building relationships with pupils, staff and families.

Responsibilities

• Deliver classroom support for pupils as planned by teachers.
• Support resource preparation, displays and pupil care including healthcare.
• Keep records of pupils' work and provide feedback.
• Maintain accurate pupil records and liaise with staff, parents and third parties.
