Job summary

Wessex Learning Trust is seeking an enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to work in our primary classrooms. You will support pupils with targeted activities, adapt resources for individuals and small groups, and contribute to a calm, inclusive classroom environment.

You will follow guidance from the SENCO and other professionals, engage in ongoing training, and build positive relationships with children, families and staff.

Qualifications

• Relevant LSA qualifications and/or experience working within primary school classrooms
• A commitment to ongoing training and professional development
• Good communication, interpersonal and organisational skills
• Reliability, flexibility and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Willingness and ability to support pupils with personal care where required (training can be provided)
• Ability to adapt and personalise resources for individual pupils and small groups
• Ability to follow guidance from the SENCO and other professionals, including speech and language therapists and educational psychologists
• A calm, patient and understanding approach, with positive relationships at its heart
• Initiative, enthusiasm and a positive attitude towards supporting children with SEND
