Job summary

East Dunbartonshire Council is seeking a Pupil Support Assistant (PSA) to support children and young people with additional support needs in schools. Position 1 is 18.75 hours per week; Position 2 is 20 hours per week.

Salary pro-rated for term-time and hours worked; temporary until 30 June 2027, with potential continuation subject to funding and staffing. You will assist with personal care, support learning activities, supervise pupils in the playground and during trips, and help create a safe,

Qualifications

• Experience working with children and young people with additional support needs is essential.
• Ability to support pupils with personal care needs.
• Ability to supervise pupils in playgrounds, corridors, dining areas, PE and on trips.
• Peripatetic role may require moving between schools within the Authority.
• Desirable childcare qualification.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils individually or in small groups as directed by teachers.
• Assist with pupils' personal care needs.
• Provide supervision in playgrounds, corridors, dining areas, during PE and on trips.
• Contribute to school-based support programmes.
• Maintain a safe and secure environment for pupils.
