Job summary

Fife Council in Lumphinnans, KY4 9HG, is seeking a committed Pupil Support Assistant (2) to help children and young people reach their full potential under the guidance of a Class Teacher or senior staff.

The role covers supporting learners individually or in small groups, contributing to planning, supervising medication, and implementing programmes devised by visiting specialists, with a focus on encouraging independence; it is a part-time, on-site post.

Qualifications

• Experience in supporting pupils with additional needs is beneficial.
• Ability to contribute to planning and review for individual pupils.

Responsibilities

• support pupils/children individually or in class or in small groups in identified areas of learning and personal development.
• contribute information to update planning and review process for individual pupils/children.
• supervise pupil/child self-administration of medication and provide high level personal care.
• carry out support programmes designed by visiting specialists (e.g. speech and language, physiotherapy, occupational therapy).
• support pupil/child mobility for emergency/short-term needs and low level support such as toileting.
