Unknown is seeking a skilled CNC Punch Press & Press Brake Operator to join the production team in a permanent role. You will set up, program and operate CNC Punch and CNC Press Brakes to manufacture sheet metal parts to customer specs, while maintaining quality and efficiency.
You must read drawings confidently, select tooling, perform first-off checks, and keep the work area tidy. Trumpf exposure is preferred; Amada/Bystronic backgrounds welcome for a full Trumpf training course.
£19 – £21 per hour | Biggleswade, Bedfordshire (SG18) | Permanent
A well-established sheet metal manufacturer based in Biggleswade is looking for a skilled CNC Punch Press and Press Brake Operator to join the production team on a permanent basis. The business supplies bespoke steel fabrications to government, defence and commercial clients, and has a strong track record of long-term employment.
Pay is £19 to £21 per hour depending on experience, with overtime available on top.
You will be setting up, programming and operating a CNC Punch Machine as well as setting and running CNC Press Brakes to produce sheet metal components to customer specifications. Day-to-day you will be reading engineering drawings, selecting and changing tooling, carrying out first-off and in-process quality checks, and keeping your machine and work area in good order.
Proven hands-on experience operating a CNC Punch Machine is essential, and Trumpf experience is preferred. Candidates coming from an Amada or Bystronic background are also welcome to apply and will be sent on a full Trumpf training course. CNC Press Brake setting and operating experience is required alongside this, and you will need to read engineering drawings confidently with a solid understanding of sheet metal fabrication and quality control.
Experience with Trumpf programming software, a forklift licence, or a background in fast-paced manufacturing would all be advantages.
