Job summary
Yorkshire Water is seeking a Pumping Solutions Technical Specialist to join the Asset Maintenance team in the Leeds area. You will design, manage and deliver temporary pumping and mitigation solutions across our network, from concept through installation, commissioning and handover, ensuring safety, compliance and cost-effectiveness.

Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3, HNC, or equivalent qualification in a relevant technical discipline.
- Proven pump hire sector and/or water industry experience.
- Practical understanding of fluid dynamics and pumping technologies.
- Strong project management experience including multiple concurrent projects.
- Working knowledge of CDM 2015 and regulatory requirements for temporary works.
- Experience managing subcontractors and external suppliers.
- Strong commercial awareness including cost control and supplier management.
- Confident communicator with clear explanation of technical information.
- Strong stakeholder management and customer-focused approach.
- Proficient with Microsoft 365 (Excel/Visio/Project).
- Full UK driving licence (no more than six points).
Responsibilities
- Review mitigation requests and assess feasibility with internal resources.
- Design temporary pumping solutions to support maintenance activities.
- Act as PMWA for installation and decommissioning of temporary pumping solutions.
- Deliver pumping solutions end-to-end, managing projects independently.
- Collaborate with Operations and MEICA Delivery to develop practical solutions.
- Lead medium to large-scale projects through lifecycle from concept to handover.
- Coordinate subcontractors including site surveys, RAMS, and installation methodologies.
- Prepare project costings and quotations with commercial oversight.
- Identify opportunities to introduce new technologies and improve delivery methods.
- Build strong stakeholder relationships and keep customers informed.
- Monitor KPIs and ensure safe, compliant delivery with SHEQ standards.
