Job summary

Yorkshire Water in Leeds is recruiting an Area Support Engineer on a permanent basis. The role, within the Area Support Engineering Team, focuses on technical decision making, asset changes and failure recovery to support operations across the region.

You will provide guidance to managers, work with a multi-discipline team to identify root causes and deliver sustainable solutions, and drive safety and service excellence across water assets.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 4 (BNC/BTEC) qualification in an engineering subject.
• >5 years of hands-on experience spanning asset maintenance, design, risk assessment and changes.
• Solid understanding of multi-discipline engineering (M,E&ICA).
• Working understanding of regulatory standards such as CDM, DSEAR, COSHH, LOLER.

Responsibilities

• Be the focal point of technical decision making in respect of asset changes, interventions and failure recovery.
• Provide technical support and advice to operational and senior managers.
• Work with the technical support team to ensure complex matters are understood and sustainable solutions are implemented.
• Inform, advise, steer and challenge capital interventions.
• Drive asset safety, customer service, water quality and environmental protection.
