Job summary

Morgan Ryder Associates is seeking a Mechanical Test Technician to join a hands-on test team working on large-scale pump and engine systems. You will rig, assemble, commission and test equipment, ensuring safety and accuracy throughout the process.

The ideal candidate has practical mechanical ability, good IT skills, and a safety-first attitude. On-the-job training is provided, with overtime and a competitive salary in a well-established engineering environment.

Qualifications

• Essential - Min NVQ2 in a Mechanical Engineering subject.
• Mechanical, practical and comfortable with large industrial equipment.
• Good computer skills and eye for detail.
• Strong safety-first approach.

Responsibilities

• Rigging and positioning pumps, motors and equipment within the test facility.
• Connecting pipework, valves and instrumentation for tests.
• Setting up equipment and running pumps through operating conditions.
• Measuring flow, pressure, temperature, vibration, speed, current, voltage and power.
• Recording and analysing test data with computer-based systems.
• Collaborating with mechanical and electrical colleagues to resolve issues.
