We are The Bartlett, UCL’s global Faculty of the Built Environment. Our departments lead their fields and develop innovative responses to pressing global issues. We are a multidisciplinary faculty committed to enhancing well-being through our built environment. The Bartlett comprises 13 Schools, Institutes, Centres, and Units, offering teaching and research to over 4,000 students worldwide. This role is part of The Bartlett Marketing and Communications team, responsible for strategic communications and marketing across the faculty.
We seek a Publishing Manager (0.5 FTE) to develop and implement strategic publications and communications to enhance The Bartlett’s visibility and reputation. The role involves collaborating with senior staff, external agencies, and editors to produce key publications, including printed books showcasing the work of The Bartlett School of Architecture. Responsibilities include managing digital and print publications, maintaining high standards of publishing and design, overseeing sales and distribution, and upholding the school's visual brand. The role also involves promoting effective communication among staff, curating student content, and managing external communications and events. Additionally, the role supports broader communication activities, website management, and audience engagement for The Bartlett School of Architecture and other departments.
The ideal candidate will have a background in publishing or communications, with experience in producing illustrated digital and print projects. Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator is essential. Strong communication skills, data interpretation abilities, and organizational skills for project planning and delivery are required. The candidate should be proactive, service-oriented, and capable of working independently while collaborating with diverse stakeholders.
