Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a senior Public Transport Planner to join its Movement & Place team in the UK. You will lead major studies, develop business cases, and shape policy across local, regional, and national scales.

Qualifications

• Essential experience in UK government bus policy and public transport reform.
• Strong understanding of transport planning principles and appraisal techniques.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead public transport studies including bus/BRT route feasibility and costing.
• Develop investment cases for new transit infrastructure and priority measures.
• Shape strategy and policy in line with changing public transport funding.
• Collaborate with active travel, Net Zero and development planning teams.
• Maintain client relationships and deliver outputs to tight deadlines.
