Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in London is seeking a Public Transport Planner to shape bus and rail strategies and support investment cases for sustainable mobility. You will join a national Movement & Place practice, working with government bodies, private clients, and multidisciplinary teams across the UK.

You will contribute to scheme appraisals, stakeholder engagement, and policy development, using data and modelling tools to inform decisions and deliver high-impact public transport outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience with BSIPs and EPs to support client delivery.
• Strong understanding of public transport policy and reform.
• Ability to develop investment cases for bus/rail projects.
• Excellent communication and report writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead public transport studies such as bus and BRT route feasibility.
• Shape strategy and policy across projects and programmes.
• Develop investment cases for new public transport infrastructure.
• Collaborate with active travel, Net Zero and planning teams.
