Job summary

Leidos UK & Europe is seeking a Portfolio Manager to lead a portfolio of programmes and services across public sector engagements in the UK, with Glasgow or Whiteley as a base. You will work closely with customers, delivery teams and senior business partners to shape strategy, prioritise initiatives and enable successful outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience leading portfolios, programmes or large-scale services.
• Strong stakeholder and customer management skills.
• Ability to balance people, delivery, commercial and operational priorities.
• Experience managing risk, governance and financial performance.
• Collaborative leadership style with a passion for developing others.
• Interest in innovation, continuous improvement and emerging technologies.
• Experience within government, public sector, defence, critical national infrastructure or technology environments would be beneficial but is not essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support a team of Programme Managers, Service Delivery Managers and delivery leaders.
• Create an inclusive, collaborative and high-performing culture.
• Support workforce planning and team growth to meet current and future demand.
• Help attract, develop and retain great talent.
• Encourage innovation and the adoption of new technologies, including AI-enabled tools.
• Drive continuous improvement across people, processes and delivery.
• Build trusted relationships with customers, partners and stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities to grow existing customer relationships and services.
• Support business development, account planning and bid activities.
• Stay informed on market trends, customer priorities and emerging technologies.
• Work across teams to strengthen capabilities in areas such as: Digital Modernisation, Systems Integration, Cloud, Cyber Security, Data & Analytics, AI-enabled Solutions.
• Monitor delivery performance, customer satisfaction, financial performance and risk.
• Ensure work is delivered in line with customer and organisational requirements.
• Promote strong governance, planning, forecasting and reporting.
• Work closely with engineering, architecture, finance, PMO, security and people teams.
• Support effective risk management and problem-solving across the portfolio.
• Encourage the sharing of lessons learned and best practices.
• Support the development of new delivery approaches and capabilities.
• Help teams adopt innovative ways of working that improve customer outcomes and team effectiveness.
