Job summary

Brighton & Hove City Council is seeking a Project Manager to accelerate the Turbocharging Innovation Programme. The role focuses on turning pilots into deliverable projects, scoping, business case development and governance across services with digital specialists.

You will lead multidisciplinary teams, manage risks, and ensure benefits are realised through robust planning, testing and implementation. This fixed-term post runs until 31 March 2028 with potential extension.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to lead agile projects from scoping to delivery.
• Experience developing robust business cases and options appraisals.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to work across services with empathy and initiative.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain evidence-based business cases with options, costs and benefits.
• Facilitate agile planning, rapid feedback cycles and continuous learning.
• Define problems and design practical, testable solutions with users.
• Create delivery plans with milestones, roles and dependencies.
• Identify risks and help teams remove blockers.
• Coordinate with Procurement, Legal and technical specialists.
• Measure benefits, track savings and report to stakeholders.
• Guide teams through scoping, prototyping, testing and handover.
