Job summary

Adecco are recruiting a Finance Assistant to work within the Lincolnshire Police Force's finance team in Lincoln. The role is a temporary, full-time position, 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with an hourly rate of £12.83.

You will handle creditor invoices, supplier queries, petty cash, POs, and reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and timely processing while supporting colleagues and external partners in a compliant public sector context.

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial processing.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Able to work collaboratively within a team and with external partners.
• Proactive problem-solving approach and ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Familiarity with financial systems and processes is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Processing creditor invoices promptly and accurately to ensure timely payments.
• Investigating and resolving complex queries related to invoices by liaising with both internal and external contacts.
• Undertaking HQ Cashier duties and processing petty cash returns, ensuring all costs are appropriately documented.
• Issuing petty cash upon request and managing any returns in compliance with established procedures.
• Carrying out supplier statement reconciliations as required.
• Processing Purchase Orders and managing purchases where applicable.
• Facilitating the setup of new suppliers, making informed decisions, and coordinating with internal and external contacts.
• Managing firearms refunds and processing Boarding Up invoices, investigating each incident accordingly.
• Booking travel and hotel accommodations and addressing any related queries.
• Resolving exchequer-related inquiries promptly and courteously.
• Ensuring all exchequer processes adhere to predetermined timelines.
• Promoting best practises in exchequer matters across the organisation, providing training and guidance to personnel as needed.
