The Lisburn and Castlereagh City Council is seeking a Compliance Officer on a temporary basis to support compliance monitoring, health and safety, and continuous improvement across council services in Lisburn. The role focuses on inspections, data reporting and maintaining accurate records.

You will report to the Lead Resilience Officer and work ~14.5 hours per week at an hourly rate of £19.47. The position offers practical exposure to risk management in a public sector setting.

Qualifications

• A minimum of five GCSEs, including English Language and Maths at grade C or above.
• At least three years’ relevant experience in: conducting compliance inspections, tracking actions and maintaining accurate records, analyzing data and reporting trends, prioritising workloads and managing time.
• Competent in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Teams, Word and Excel.

Responsabilités

• Undertake planned and unannounced compliance inspections across Council services.
• Verify that controls identified in risk assessments and safe systems of work have been implemented.
• Monitor and report on actions arising from audits, inspections, incidents and investigations.
• Maintain accurate compliance and action-tracking records.
• Analyse incident, audit and inspection data to identify trends, recurring issues and emerging risks.
• Support accident, incident, near-miss and insurance claim investigations.
• Prepare clear compliance reports, performance updates and briefing information for senior stakeholders.
• Review risk assessments, procedures and safety documentation to support quality assurance and legal compliance.
