Job summary

Lynn Recruitment is seeking a Compliance Officer in Lisburn, Northern Ireland, to support council health and safety management. You will undertake planned and unannounced inspections, monitor corrective actions, and analyse performance data across services to identify non-compliance.

The role requires at least three years' relevant experience, GCSEs including English and Maths, strong Excel/Outlook/MS Teams skills, and a full UK driving license.

Qualifications

• GCSEs including English Language and Mathematics.
• Minimum of three years' experience conducting compliance inspections and tracking corrective actions.
• Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret data and report trends.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, MS Teams, Word, Excel).

Responsibilities

• Undertake planned and unannounced compliance inspections across Council services.
• Verify the implementation of controls from risk assessments and safe systems of work.
• Monitor, track and report on outstanding corrective actions within agreed timescales.
• Maintain a central compliance and action-tracking system with accurate records.
• Analyse incident, audit and inspection data to identify trends and risks.
• Support investigations into accidents and insurance claims, identifying lessons learned.
• Prepare clear compliance reports and briefing materials for senior management.
• Report on compliance performance and recommend corrective measures.
• Support continuous improvement by evaluating existing controls and good practices.
• Review and quality-assure risk assessments and health and safety documentation.
• Monitor statutory inspection and testing programmes for legal compliance.
• Collaborate with services and stakeholders to promote compliance and risk management.
• Undertake other appropriate duties as directed by the Lead Resilience Officer.
