Qualifikationen

• Qualifed solicitor, barrister or CILEx with current practising certificate.
• Deep expertise in commercial and public procurement law and related policies.
• Strong client-focused, practical and solution-driven advice.
• Excellent research, drafting and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage a varied caseload and meet deadlines.
• Experience in local government context preferred.

Aufgaben

• Provide legal advice and support on commercial contracts and public sector procurement law matters (construction, IT, grants, JV and subsidy control).
• Stay up-to-date with legislation and policy to ensure accurate and effective advice.
• Advise on and apply the Council's Contract Procedure Rules and governance procedures.
• Prepare and manage a range of public procurement tenders and contracts.
• Build relationships with internal and external clients and stakeholders; Instruct external specialists as needed.
• Maintain close contact with the Service Manager on all issues.
• Provide concise advice on complex legal issues to senior officers at board and committee meetings.
• Respond to reasonable requests to undertake other responsibilities appropriate to the post.
