Qualifikationen

• Qualified solicitor, barrister or CILEx fellow with current practising certificate.
• Strong expertise in commercial and public procurement law, incl. relevant regulations.
• Client-focused with ability to provide clear, practical advice.
• Excellent research, drafting and analytical skills.
• Highly organised with ability to manage a varied caseload and deadlines.
• Clear communicator capable of negotiating with stakeholders.
• Experience with corporate clients or local government, or adaptable to public sector.
• Experience in commercial/public procurement or contract law.

Aufgaben

• Provide legal advice on commercial contracts and public sector procurement.
• Stay updated on Public Contracts Regulations 2015, Procurement Act 2023, Subsidy Control Act 2022.
• Advise on and apply Contract Procedure Rules and governance procedures.
• Manage a range of public procurement tenders and contracts.
• Build relationships with internal and external clients and stakeholders.
• Instruct external specialists as needed.
• Maintain contact with Service Manager on issues.
• Provide concise advice to senior officers at board and committee meetings.
• Respond to other duties appropriate to the grade.
