Job summary

Nottingham City Council is seeking a Public Realm Operative to support grounds maintenance across Nottingham. You will perform grass cutting, hedge work, pruning, and general upkeep of outdoor spaces to keep areas clean, safe and welcoming for residents and visitors.

The role requires a current driving licence, willingness to undertake training, and strong health and safety awareness. Hybrid arrangements and generous pension benefits are offered by the council.

Qualifications

• A current driving licence and willingness to complete required training.
• Experience in grounds maintenance or related outdoor work.
• Knowledge of health and safety and safe handling of chemicals.

Responsibilities

• Grass cutting, strimming, hedge cutting, pruning, and weeding.
• Litter picking and leaf clearance.
• General maintenance of communal areas, parks and housing estates.
• Follow safe working practices and operate hand tools and machinery.
