Job summary

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde Public Protection Service is seeking a Public Protection Nurse Advisor to lead clinical practice, provide specialist advice and supervise cases. The post supports safeguarding across a wide range of staff and services within NHS GGC.

You will join a dynamic team with a strong track record in protection and education, based at Queen Elizabeth University Hospital with training across NHS GGC locations. A Master’s level qualification in protection is preferred.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse or Midwife with a first‑level degree and significant post‑registration experience.
• Postgraduate qualification in Child Protection and/or Adult Safeguarding required.
• Experience with children, young people, families, and/or vulnerable adults is essential.
• Knowledge of current child/adult protection policies and legislation is required.
• Willingness to undertake further study in child and adult protection.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership, specialist guidance and case supervision to a wide range of staff.
• Collaborate across professions and agencies to make evidence‑based decisions.
• Work as part of a team with senior colleagues and administration staff to deliver protection services.
