Job summary

Grant Thornton UK LLP in Birmingham is seeking a Manager, Public Interest (PI) Audit to lead complex PI engagements and uphold audit quality across the portfolio.

You will design audit strategy, manage engagement teams, and present findings to Audit Committees, while ensuring compliance with ISAs (UK), UK GAAP and IFRS. The role offers autonomy, flexible working options, and a collaborative culture.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified chartered accountant with ACA/ACCA/CA/ICAS/ICAEW or international equivalent.
• Experience planning, leading and delivering major external audit engagements in a managerial capacity.
• Strong knowledge of ISAs (UK), UK GAAP and IFRS, including PI-specific regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Audit strategy design and delivery across engagements with ISA compliance.
• Lead engagement teams and manage budgets and client expectations.
• Present findings to Audit Committees and maintain independence.
• Plan full audit cycle from planning to completion with timely deliverables.
• Uphold risk management and professional standards across engagements.
