Job summary

HDR is seeking a Public Health Design Engineer to shape and deliver public health systems across data centres, healthcare, education, and complex infrastructure in London. You will work with multidisciplinary teams to ensure technically sound, coordinated designs and robust documentation.

The role requires a degree or equivalent, strong communication, and at least 3 years in a design consultancy. You will produce CAD/Revit drawings, engage with clients, and help drive innovative, sustainable

Qualifications

• Educational qualifications to a degree level or equivalent.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills.
• Minimum 3 years’ industry experience with a design consultancy.
• Experience producing CAD/Revit drawings and coordinating with other consultants.
• Familiarity with design software relevant to public health engineering projects.

Responsibilities

• Design public health systems.
• Produce calculations, specifications, reports and technical drawings.
• Coordinate designs with multidisciplinary teams.
• Liaise with the design team to produce coordinated designs that are technically compliant, to a consistent quality and standard; provide positive contributions to design/project meetings and maintain regular in‑house design reviews and checks.
• Support project delivery from feasibility through detailed design and construction stages.
• Engage with clients, contractors and stakeholders to deliver successful project outcomes.
• Contribute to innovative and sustainable engineering approaches aligned with industry best practice.
