Birmingham City Council is seeking a motivated Public Health Programme Officer to join its Food System Team within the Public Health Division. This 2-year fixed-term role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to improving health and reducing inequalities by developing a healthier, fairer and more sustainable food system for Birmingham’s residents.

You will work with colleagues and partners across the Council, NHS, universities and community organisations to deliver the Birmingham Food

Formación

• A degree or another relevant equivalent-level qualification.
• Experience in project management, data protection/information governance or supporting change management processes.
• Experience of working with a range of partners and stakeholders to support public health outcomes.
• Experience of producing effective briefings, reports and bid submissions.
• The ability to identify and analyse data and intelligence to inform performance, commissioning, strategy and policy development.
• An understanding of public health priorities, the relevant policy environment and project management principles.
• Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage with diverse audiences.
• Effective IT skills and a commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.
• A willingness to undertake ongoing professional development.

Responsabilidades

• Plan, coordinate and deliver public health programmes aligned with the Birmingham Food System Strategy.
• Maintain project plans, action logs, risk registers and programme documentation.
• Collaborate with partners to strengthen partnership working and support the Birmingham Food System Partnership.
• Undertake research, evidence reviews and data analysis to inform programme development.
• Support community engagement, consultation and co-production activities.
• Contribute to monitoring, evaluation and reporting with evidence of progress.
• Prepare high-quality reports, briefings and presentations for diverse audiences.
• Support equality impact considerations to reduce health inequalities.
• Contribute to grant-funded programmes and contracting monitoring.
• Monitor emerging public health policy and opportunities.
