Birmingham City Council is seeking a motivated Public Health Programme Officer to join the Food System Team within the Public Health Division. The role supports delivery of the Birmingham Food System Strategy and works with the NHS, universities and local partners to improve health, reduce inequalities, and promote sustainable food systems.

You will coordinate public health programmes, conduct research, engage communities, and contribute to monitoring and reporting.

Formación

• Experience planning, coordinating and delivering public health programmes.
• Ability to maintain project plans, action logs, risk registers and documentation.
• Experience engaging with partners and stakeholders to support collaboration.
• Experience monitoring, evaluation and reporting of programmes.

Responsabilidades

• Support planning, coordination and delivery of public health programmes aligned with the Birmingham Food System Strategy.
• Maintain project plans, action logs, risk registers and programme documentation.
• Work with partners and stakeholders to strengthen partnership working and support the Birmingham Food System Partnership and its action groups.
• Undertake research, evidence reviews and data analysis to inform programme development and service improvement.
• Support community engagement, consultation and co-production activities to understand local needs and help develop interventions.
• Contribute to monitoring, evaluation and reporting, gathering evidence of progress and impact.
• Prepare high-quality reports, briefings and communications for diverse audiences.
• Support equality impact considerations and initiatives to reduce health inequalities.
• Contribute to grant-funded programmes, commissioning activity and contract monitoring where needed.
