Job description

We are looking for a methodical, organised, and self‑motivated individual to join our team. You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, excel at building relationships, and influence without direct authority. You will have a proven track record of collaborative working with a range of colleagues and partner organisations to reduce health inequalities and improve the health and wellbeing of the local population. Your ability to communicate at all levels, work on complex projects, and apply your knowledge and experience will_bd help us achieve the aims and objectives of the organisation. This post will focus on the Health Improvement agenda, driving forward the systemic approach to reducing physical inactivity. The area of responsibility may vary over time depending on local priorities and the needs of the Public Health directorate.<\/p>

Responsibilities<\/h3>
  • Lead the development, commissioning and procurement, financial budget management and delivery of a range.Audio of public health strategies, interventions and services for the population in Tameside, particularly the Health & Wellbeing Strategy, Healthy Places Strategic Framework, Tameside Moving পরে, Let’s Ride Tameside Strategy and Tameside Walking & Wheeling Strategy.<\/li>
  • Oversee public health programme management, delivering service change and improved outcomes.<\/li>
  • Commission and procure services with relevant governance processes and procedures.<\/li>
  • Monitor budgets, manage financial reporting and ensure financial accountability.<\/li>
  • Prepare reports, create and deliver presentations, and communicate with stakeholders at all levels.<\/li>
  • Work across organisational boundaries and collaborate with various parties engaged in the public health agenda.<\/li>
  • Deliver complex public health programmes utilising the Faculty of Public Health Competencies.<\/li>
Qualifications<\/h3>
  • Educated at degree level 6 or above in a relevant discipline.<\/li>
  • Relevant professional qualification at Level 6 or above and maintenance of membership of a regulated body where required.<\/li>
  • Minimum of 2 years post‑qualification experience as a Public Health Programme Manager or in a similar role.<\/li>
  • Strong leadership skills and a track record of delivering service change with improved outcomes.<\/li>
  • Experience commissioning and procuring services, with knowledge of governance processes.<\/li>
  • Budget monitoring, financial management and reporting experience.<\/li>
  • Excellent report writing, presentation and communication skills.<\/li>
  • Ability to work across organisational boundaries and collaborate with stakeholders.<\/li>
  • Adherence to the highest professional standards.<\/li>
