Job summary

Worcestershire County Council is recruiting two Public Health Practitioners to support Priority Neighbourhood Development and place-based working across Worcestershire. These permanent roles offer the opportunity to work directly with communities, partners and local organisations to improve health and wellbeing outcomes.

As a Public Health Practitioner, you will help deliver locality-based public health action, build strong relationships with residents and partners, and contribute to evidence

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the development and delivery of Priority Neighbourhood Development programmes.
  • Building trusted relationships with residents, community groups, faith organisations, schools, businesses and local partners.
  • Engaging communities to identify local priorities, strengths and opportunities for action.
  • Facilitating asset-based community development approaches that empower local people and organisations.
  • Supporting community engagement, co-production and resident-led decision making.
  • Developing and maintaining partnerships that improve access to health, wellbeing and wider opportunities.
  • Identifying opportunities to attract resources and support into local communities.
  • Working across organisations and sectors to address the wider determinants of health and reduce inequalities.
  • Supporting evidence gathering, monitoring, evaluation and learning from community-based programmes.

Worcestershire Public Health is recruiting two Public Health Practitioners to support our growing programme of Priority Neighbourhood Development and place-based working. These exciting permanent roles offer the opportunity to work directly with communities, partners and local organisations to improve health and wellbeing outcomes in some of Worcestershire's most disadvantaged neighbourhoods.

We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated individuals who believe in the strengths and assets within communities and who can help residents, local organisations and partners work together to address local priorities and create healthier places to live, work and thrive.

About The Role

As a Public Health Practitioner, you will play a key role in delivering locality-based public health action across Worcestershire. Working closely with residents, voluntary and community organisations, statutory partners and local stakeholders, you will help develop sustainable community-led approaches that improve wellbeing and tackle the causes of poor health.

Your responsibilities will include:
