Job summary

Worcestershire County Council is seeking an experienced Advanced Public Health Practitioner to lead Worcestershire's Creative Health programme within the Adult Health Improvement Team on a 12-month maternity cover.

You will provide strategic leadership across sectors to embed creative approaches in public health priorities and develop community wellbeing initiatives, with hybrid working and a 35-hour week at Wildwood Worcestershire.

  • Ability to engage with arts, culture, voluntary, and health sectors.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the county-wide Creative Health programme development and delivery.
  • Manage and support a community-based Creative Health grants programme.
  • Build partnerships across arts, culture, voluntary, community, education and health sectors.
  • Lead a cross-sector Creative Health Collaborative and influence system-wide health approaches.
  • Support community-led solutions addressing local health priorities.
  • Work with Priority Neighbourhoods to reach underserved communities and tackle inequalities.
  • Promote evidence-based practice, monitor and evaluate outcomes, contribute to research.

Are you passionate about reducing health inequalities, empowering communities and using creativity to improve health and wellbeing?

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Advanced Public Health Practitioner to join our Adult Health Improvement Team on a 12-month maternity cover contract. This is an exciting opportunity to lead and develop Worcestershire's growing Creative Health programme while supporting wider community development approaches that improve health outcomes and strengthen local resilience.

This role sits at the heart of a dynamic public health agenda that recognises the powerful contribution that creativity, culture and community action can make to improving mental wellbeing, reducing loneliness and social isolation, increasing community connectedness, and tackling health inequalities.

About The Role

You will provide strategic leadership for Worcestershire's Creative Health programme, working across sectors to embed creative approaches within public health priorities and community wellbeing initiatives. The role will involve:

  • Leading the development and delivery of a county-wide Creative Health programme.
  • Managing and supporting a community-based Creative Health grants programme.
  • Building strong partnerships across the arts, culture, voluntary, community, education and health sectors.
  • Leading a cross-sector Creative Health Collaborative and influencing system-wide approaches to health and wellbeing.
  • Supporting the development of community-led solutions that address local health priorities.
  • Working with Priority Neighbourhoods and underserved communities to ensure opportunities reach those experiencing the greatest inequalities.
  • Promoting evidence-based practice, monitoring and evaluation, and contributing to emerging creative health research.
  • Developing innovative approaches to engaging residents and communities in improving health and wellbeing.
