Job summary

Barnsley Council is seeking a Public Health Intelligence Manager to lead the specialist Public Health Intelligence function within the Public Health Business Unit. You will provide professional leadership across analysis, epidemiology, data insight and evidence-based advice, ensuring intelligence informs JSNA and commissioning.

You will manage a small team and collaborate with NHS, UKHSA and partners to deliver better resident outcomes.

Qualifications

• Degree in a related discipline required.
• Level 7 qualification in public health, epidemiology, statistics or social sciences, or substantial equivalent experience.
• Experience in public health intelligence, population health or related analytical field.

Responsibilities

• Lead the specialist Public Health Intelligence function within the Public Health Business Unit.
• Manage a small team and align data use with partners to improve resident outcomes.
• Provide professional leadership in epidemiology, data insight and evidence‑based advice.
• Translate complex data into insights and actionable recommendations for senior leaders.
