Job summary

BlackEdge partnered with a globally recognised engineering consultancy to recruit Public Health Engineers for its London Data Centre team. You will design and deliver resilient water services, public health and fire protection systems for hyperscale and mission-critical facilities across the UK and Europe, collaborating with mechanical, electrical, architectural and BIM specialists.

You’ll contribute from concept through detailed design to construction support, helping ensure reliability,

Qualifications

• Degree in Building Services Engineering, Public Health Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience designing public health and fire protection systems within complex buildings.
• Experience with public health calculations, hydraulic modelling and system sizing.
• Knowledge of industry regulations, building codes and standards.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary project teams.
• Experience with BIM and digital design tools advantageous.
• Exposure to data centres, healthcare or mission-critical facilities is valuable.

Responsibilities

• Design public health and fire protection systems for complex, mission-critical facilities.
• Perform system calculations, hydraulic modelling, equipment sizing and specifications.
• Develop water services strategies including domestic water and drainage.
• Coordinate designs with multidisciplinary teams and BIM.
• Plan plant rooms, utility connections and distribution routes.
• Produce technical reports and design documentation for clients and contractors.
• Contribute to sustainable design solutions for improved performance.
