Job summary

West Sussex County Council is seeking a Public Health Analyst to deliver insights, undertake research, and support evidence-based public health initiatives in the Public Health Directorate, based at County Hall, Chichester.

You will monitor smoking cessation data, analyse performance against KPIs, merge datasets for the Stop Smoking Services quarterly return, and work with NHS partners to inform service improvements and health outcomes across local communities.

Qualifications

Degree or equivalent qualification with applied research and data analysis.
Knowledge of systems, procedures and policies for data management techniques.
Experience providing professional advice to senior staff and partner organisations.

Responsibilities

Analyse local smoking cessation data and present reports with recommendations.
Monitor service performance against targets and KPIs.
Monitor and report local smoking cessation and grant spend.
Merge data sets from local stop smoking services into the national quarterly return.
Design methodologies and interpret varied information to propose long-term strategies.
Collaborate with WSCC and NHS partners to inform decisions.
Define analytical plan with milestones and data governance requirements.
Plan and meet targets, escalating issues to line manager when needed.
