Job summary

North Northamptonshire Council is seeking an Assistant Public Health Officer to join our forward-looking Public Health team. You will support planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of Public Health programmes across North Northamptonshire and coordinate project activities with colleagues.

The role requires willingness to undertake a Level 6 Public Health Practitioner apprenticeship with Coventry University starting January 2027, and you will work remotely while attending our

Qualifications

• A-Level or Level 3 equivalent qualifications (or equivalent work-based experience).
• Experience coordinating meetings and engagement events, online and in-person.
• Willing and eligible to undergo Level 6-degree apprenticeship with the University of Coventry.
• Strong written and verbal communication; proficient with Microsoft 365.

Responsibilities

• Support the implementation, monitoring and review of Public Health projects and programmes to achieve objectives.
• Collect, maintain and analyse project activity data for reporting and decision making.
• Coordinate meetings, workshops and engagement activities with governance support.
• Provide advice and information relating to Public Health initiatives and signpost stakeholders to services.
• Produce reports, presentations and project documentation using Microsoft 365.
• Support procurement, contract monitoring, finance administration and record keeping.
