Job summary

Imperial College London is recruiting for a role within the Public and Community Engagement Team to inspire local underrepresented young people aged 13–25 through STEMB activities, collaborating with schools, charities and community networks across London.

The post will develop and deliver inclusive programmes, organise engaging outputs for public-facing events such as the Great Exhibition Road Festival, and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, supportive environment.

Are you passionate about inspiring local young people 13 – 25 years in Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths and Business?

This rewarding role is key to developing and delivering high-quality inclusive activities and programmes that build confidence in young people and create meaningful connections with local community networks.

What you would be doing

As a member of the Public and Community Engagement Team, you will create inspiring opportunities for local underrepresented young people aged 13 – 25 years. You will coordinate and deliver programmes and activities that engage local young people with Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths and Business (STEMB) often using creative approaches. Some of these outputs will culminate in public- facing opportunities such as the Great Exhibition Road Festival and other platforms, enabling young people to share their perspectives with wider audiences. You will build on existing youth engagement programmes working with local community networks and charities to grow young people’s confidence and connection to STEMB.

What we are looking for

You are passionate about breaking down barriers and engaging local underrepresented young people in STEMB. With experience of developing and delivering engaging live programmes, that encourage dialogue between the public and academics/ specialists. A skilled communicator, you thrive in fast-paced environments and can successfully manage multiple projects while building strong relationships

This is a full time (35 hours a week), open-ended position.
