Our client, a well-respected and reputable trade association, is currently looking for a Public Affairs and Events Officer to join a hard-working, fun, and friendly team.
To support the delivery of public affairs and events activities, ensuring the Association is recognized as the leading industry trade body and acts as a pragmatic and authoritative voice on all trade-related matters.
To assist with designing and delivering parliamentary activities and to promote the company’s thought leadership through event management and delivery.
Supporting parliamentary and political engagement, including briefing colleagues ahead of meetings or inquiry sessions.
Supporting the delivery of the association’s own thought leadership events and events sponsored by its corporate partners. This involves leading the design of events from start to finish to ensure they meet objectives, involve the right stakeholders, and achieve tangible policy outcomes.
Attending sector events to network and gather intelligence.
Working closely with members to understand their challenges and political priorities, using these insights to inform external activities.
Developing briefing papers on community-related issues.
Maintaining the stakeholder map to ensure the association engages with the right stakeholders at the right times.
Providing parliamentary and political intelligence to inform the association’s messaging and positioning, including briefings for the Chief Executive.
At least 2 years’ experience in a political environment with a proven track record of delivering high-quality events.
Experience working with trade associations or membership bodies is desirable but not essential.
Experience in a healthcare setting is also desirable but not essential.
Knowledge of parliamentary procedures and public affairs.
Strong writing skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
Proficiency in IT applications.
