As our Public Affairs Lead, you will be a crucial link between our organisation and key government/political stakeholders. Your primary focus will be on engaging with government ministers and city officials to advance the interests of Pride in London and the broader LGBTQ+ community. You will play a vital role in shaping our legislative environment and ensuring our voice is heard at the highest levels of government.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and execute our public affairs strategy
Build relationships with government decision-makers
Represent Pride in London at high-level meetings and events
Advise on policy issues and political developments
Monitor relevant legislative and policy changes
Collaborate on government-focused messaging and campaigns
Organise meetings and events with government officials and other political leaders
Prepare briefing documents and presentations
WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO THE ROLE
Experience in public affairs or government relations (3+ years preferred)
Strong understanding of UK politics and LGBTQ+ policy issues
Network of government/political contacts
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities
Passion for LGBTQ+ rights and Pride in London's mission
