Job summary

Greene King's Walnut Tree Farm in Nursling, Southampton, is seeking an Assistant Manager to work closely with the General Manager and lead the team to deliver the warm Farmhouse experience. You’ll be a visible shift leader, driving service quality and standards across busy periods.

In this role you’ll support day-to-day pub running, oversee team performance, guest experience, sales, compliance and stock, and coach your team to build confidence and advance their careers in a high-volume setting.

Qualifications

• Has experience leading a team in hospitality, retail, leisure or a similar fast-paced environment.
• Is confident running a shift and making decisions when things get busy.
• Knows how to motivate a team and create a great working environment.
• Understands the importance of excellent customer service and commercial performance.
• Is organised, resilient and able to keep a clear head under pressure.
• Wants to develop their career and take on more responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Lead the team and run the pub, ensuring guests receive the warm Farmhouse experience.
• Be a visible leader on every shift, motivating the team, setting high standards, and delivering great service even at peak times.
• Support the General Manager with day-to-day running, owning team performance, guest experience, sales, standards, stock, health & safety and compliance.
• Coach and develop your team, helping them build confidence, learn new skills and progress their careers.
• When running the shift, make decisions, solve problems and keep everything running smoothly.
