Job summary

Railway Electrical Services Ltd is seeking a PTS Civils Labourer to support our civil engineering and rail projects. The role involves vegetation clearance, minor building alterations, and installing cable management systems along trackside and facilities.

Responsibilities include reading specifications and drawings, adapting to site conditions, and maintaining safety and regulatory compliance. Willingness to work away from home with accommodation and expenses provided is expected.

Qualifications

• PTS certification or equivalent
• Valid driving licence is required
• Experience in industrial and rail environments preferred
• Ability to read and interpret specifications and drawings
• Strong commitment, motivation and organisational skills
• Good working knowledge of relevant standards and regulations

Responsibilities

• Vegetation clearance.
• Minor building modifications (doors, extract systems, internal walls).
• Cable management systems: troughing, ducting, buried routes, URXs.
• Walkways and access routes.
• Trackside equipment earth retaining barriers.
• NR boundary fence modifications including earthing compliance modifications.
• Equipment foundations such as DNO, ASP, Points Heating.

Job role

To complement our Mechanical and Electrical engineering services, RES offer Civil engineering and minor building works which enable us to provide a complete turnkey solution.

The responsibilities of the successful applicant will include but are not limited to:

• Vegetation clearance.
• Minor building modifications (doorways, extract systems, internal walls).
• Cable management systems: Troughing Ducting, Buried direct routes, URX’s.
• Walkways.
• Trackside Equipment Earth Retaining Barriers.
• NR boundary Fence modifications including earthing compliance modifications.
• Equipment foundations such as: DNO, ASP, Points Heating.

Job role

The role may require working away from home however accommodation and expenses allowance are provided.

The successful candidate must have the right to work in the UK and must possess:

• PTS
• Current drivers licence
• Experience in industrial & Rail
• Ability to read and interpret specifications and drawings.
• Be committed and self-motivated, with very good organisational skills.
• Good working knowledge of standards and regulations
