Job summary

QA Higher Education is seeking a Psychology Lab Technician at our Manchester Campus to support practical teaching, research activities and laboratory operations. The role involves preparing and maintaining equipment, assisting students and staff, and helping with data collection using SPSS and other tools.

The ideal candidate holds a BPS-accredited undergraduate degree in Psychology, with knowledge of research methods and strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methods.
• Attention to detail and strong communication skills.
• Experience using SPSS, NVivo, Qualtrics or similar tools.
• BPS-accredited undergraduate degree in Psychology (essential).
• Postgraduate qualification and Biopac experience are desirable.

About the Role

Are you passionate about Psychology and keen to support the next generation of students and researchers? We are looking for a Psychology Lab Technician to support practical teaching, research activities, and laboratory operations within our growing Psychology department.

What You Will Be Doing

• Preparing and maintaining psychology laboratory equipment and materials.
• Supporting students and academic staff during practical laboratory sessions.
• Assisting with psychological research projects, experiments, and data collection.
• Managing and organising laboratory resources and environments.
• Supporting the use of SPSS, NVivo, Qualtrics and Gorilla.
• Ensuring compliance with health, safety and ethical guidelines.

About You

• BPS-accredited undergraduate degree in Psychology (essential).
• Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methods.
• Experience using SPSS, NVivo, Qualtrics or similar tools.
• Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
• Experience supporting psychology teaching, labs or research projects is advantageous.
• Postgraduate qualification, GBC status and Biopac experience are desirable.
