About the Role:

Empowering Learning is seeking a Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant to work within Special Educational Needs (SEN) schools. This role is ideal for psychology graduates looking to gain practical experience supporting children and young people with complex needs, including Autism (ASD), ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties.

You will play a key role in supporting pupils' academic, emotional, and behavioural development, working closely with experienced SEN professionals in a highly supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEN

  • Support students with ASD, SEMH, ADHD, and additional needs

  • Assist in implementing individual education and behaviour plans

  • Help manage challenging behaviour using positive behaviour strategies

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and SEN staff

  • Create a safe, nurturing, and structured learning environment

Ideal Candidate:
  • Degree in Psychology (or a related field)

  • Strong interest in SEN, mental health, or child development

  • Calm, patient, and resilient approach

  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills

  • Previous SEN or care experience is desirable but not essential
