Job summary

North Staffordshire Combined Healthcare NHS Trust seeks a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner for the Ascend service, providing Step 2 interventions in 1:1 and group formats. The post assesses risk, supports change, and works with diverse backgrounds, using interpreters when needed.

The role is fixed-term until 30/09/2028 and welcomes applications from BABCP-accredited PWP professionals. For 16+ clients, the post delivers evidence-based treatments across various modalities, including workshops

Qualifications

Accept referrals via agreed protocols within the service.
Assess and support people aged 16+ accessing the Ascend service for sexual assault or abuse.
Undertake patient-centred assessments identifying changes and assessing risk to self and others.
Provide information and support for evidence-based psychological treatments (Step 2).
Attend MDT meetings where appropriate.
Deliver minimum two hours per week of Step 2 treatment (assessment and 1:1 or groups).

Responsibilities

Provide a range of information and support for evidence-based psychological treatments via face-to-face, telephone, workshops or other media.
Adhere to an agreed activity contract relating to client contacts and weekly clinical sessions to minimise waiting times.
Refer unsuitable clients on to the relevant service or back to the referral agent as necessary.
Work with diverse backgrounds using interpreters when necessary.
