Job summary

Making Space is seeking a qualified Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner to join our Psychological Wellbeing Service in Warrington, delivering Step 2 low‑intensity CBT. You will manage your own clinical caseload, conduct assessments, and work with the team to maintain high standards across Wigan and Warrington boroughs.

The role involves face-to-face community clinics, weekly SilverCloud-based reviews, and collaboration with GPs and partners to improve access to Talking Therapies.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner.
  • Postgraduate training in relevant areas of professional psychology, mental health practice and/or research design and analysis.
  • Experience of providing Step 2 clinical interventions for common mental health problems.
  • Experience of managing a caseload and keeping up-to-date records using a database.
  • Experience of working with individuals (1:1) in different settings to help them achieve their goals.
  • Experience with utilising cCBT platforms as a method of support at Step 2.
  • Experience working with a range of agencies and organisations to develop effective working relationships.
  • Experience in following robust risk management processes.
  • Experience working within a service with targets and clinical outcomes.
  • Experience of working with people facing barriers and social issues.

Responsibilities

  • Formulate and implement safety management plans following Risk Assessment & Risk Management policies and procedures.
  • Deliver a range of evidence-based one-to-one interventions, with emphasis on cCBT delivery.
  • Silvercloud is the current system for cCBT delivery; provide weekly telephone reviews.
  • Share responsibility for delivering local contractual obligations and targets both clinical and managerial.
  • Attend meetings within the community as needed.
  • Regularly promote the service to external agencies, particularly GPs, and establish good working relationships to generate referrals.

Job summary

Are you a qualified Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner looking for your next rewarding opportunity? We’re looking for someone passionate and motivated to join our Psychological Wellbeing Service team, based in Warrington, WA2 7JB.

You’ll work across the Wigan and Warrington boroughs delivering Step 2 low-intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and as a key member of the team, you will be working closely with our clinical team to maintain our high standard and help us to develop this further.

Salary: Band 5 AFC salary to be discussed. Hours: 35 per week. Main duties of the job: Making Space Talking Therapies provides evidence-based interventions within a stepped care model, for the treatment of people with mild to moderate common mental health problems. As a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner you will manage your own caseload providing evidence-based treatments, this involves using Silvercloud packages and weekly telephone reviews. This role will also involve face-to-face assessments clinic in the community to ensure access to Talking Therapies is achieved throughout the Wigan Borough. We provide a unique offer within GP surgeries and community services and have developed strong working relationships with partners. With this in mind, we would welcome professional and enthusiastic PWPs to apply to the post.

Job description

Person Specification

  • Experience promoting referrals or a service in a mental health setting.
