South West London & St George's Mental Health NHS Trust seeks a Psychology Wellbeing Practitioner to join the Talking Therapies service in a hybrid role based in Surbiton. The post involves delivering brief evidence-based step 2 interventions to people with mild to moderate mental health problems, by telephone, face-to-face, online and in groups, contributing to a responsive stepped-care service.

This is a great opportunity to expand our step 2 team and recruit a Qualified PWP. We would welcome you to join our successful and dynamic Talking Therapies service, with lots of innovation and service development projects to get involved in. This is a hybrid post of both remote and office-based working. You will be based in Surbiton, a short walk away from the station, and will join a team of lively and friendly Clinical and Counselling Psychologists, CBT Therapists and Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners. Alongside high and low intensity CBT interventions, the service also provides step 2 and 3 groups, as well relational therapies such as DIT and IPT, and Behavioural Couples Therapy. We also work alongside our Primary Care Mental Health Team which includes Psychiatrists, Clinical Psychologists and Mental Health Nurses. We offer good quality, weekly case management supervision, as well as fortnightly clinical skills sessions and workshops, facilitated by either step 3 clinicians, or led by peers., Unless expressly stated in the job advert the role is not subject to sponsorship, please be advised that all offers of employment are subject to evidence of right to work in the UK. To accept referrals via agreed protocols within the service. To assess and supports people with a common mental health problem in the self-management of their recovery. To undertake patient-centred interviews which identify areas where the person wishes to see change and or recovery and makes an accurate assessment of risk to self and others. Make decisions on suitability of new referrals, adhering to the department's referral protocols, referring unsuitable clients on to the relevant service or back to the referral agent as necessary, or stepping-up the person's treatment to high intensity psychological therapy. Provide a range of information and support for evidence based high-volume low-intensity psychological treatments. This may include conducting individual guided self-help interventions, facilitating psycho-educational groups and workshops, and providing information about pharmacological treatments. This work may be face to face, telephone or via other media. To educate and involve family members and others in treatment as necessary. To adhere to an agreed activity contract relating to the overall number of client contacts offered, and clinical sessions carried out per week in order to minimise waiting times and ensure treatment delivery remains accessible and convenient. To attend multi-disciplinary meetings relating to referrals or clients in treatment, where appropriate. To complete all requirements relating to data collection within the service. To keep coherent records of all clinical activity in line with service protocols and use these records and clinical outcome data in clinical decision making. To work closely with other members of the team ensuring appropriate step-up and step-down arrangements are in place to maintain a stepped care approach.
