Job summary

First Group is seeking an experienced PSV/PCV Electrician in Greater London to service a modern bus fleet. You will diagnose, repair and maintain electrical systems across multiple vehicle platforms, using high‑voltage safety practices and industry diagnostic tools.

The role requires an NVQ Level 3 apprenticeship, strong fault‑finding skills and a commitment to safety, reliability and excellent customer service for daily operations.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 apprenticeship completed.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostics in vehicle electronics.
• Experience with CAN bus and high-voltage systems.
• Knowledge of hybrid/electric bus technology and diagnostics.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical faults across a modern PSV/PCV fleet.
• Utilise specialist diagnostic equipment for various systems and controllers.
• Carry out routine electrical maintenance to ensure reliability and safety.
• Investigate CAN bus and vehicle electronic control faults.
• Maintain and repair hybrid and electric systems following HV safety practices.
• Diagnose and repair regenerative braking and advanced tech.
• Support electrical systems across multiple fleet brands.
• Ensure repairs are completed safely and within timescales.
• Select appropriate parts and document defects accurately.
• Comply with Health & Safety policies and reporting requirements.
