Job summary

First Bus Slough Depot is seeking a NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) PSV/HGV Mechanic to join the busy team. You will diagnose faults, perform repairs, servicing and maintenance on PSV/HGV vehicles, and support on‑road breakdowns with a strong emphasis on safety and regulatory compliance.

You should have PSV/HGV experience or a transferable automotive background, a valid UK driving licence, and a passion for high‑quality vehicle maintenance.

Qualifications

• Level 3 NVQ/SVQ or City & Guilds in vehicle maintenance & repair.
• Experience on PSV or HGV vehicles is desirable.
• UK driving licence is essential.
• Strong attention to detail and passion for mechanics.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose faults and carry out mechanical repairs on PSV/HGV vehicles.
• Replace parts, complete servicing, inspections and preventive maintenance.
• Respond to on‑road breakdowns and recoveries where needed.
• Road test vehicles and ensure documentation meets regulations and safety standards.
