Job summary

First Bus Huddersfield Depot is hiring an NVQ/SVQ Level 3 qualified PSV/HGV Technician. Join a busy team maintaining buses and related vehicles at our Huddersfield depot. You will diagnose faults, carry out repairs, servicing and on-road recoveries, with a focus on safety and reliability.

The role offers a structured shift pattern, overtime at time-and-a-half, and opportunities for career progression within a leading UK bus operator.

Qualifications

• NVQ/SVQ Level 3 (or City & Guilds equivalent) in vehicle maintenance & repair.
• Experience working on HGV or PSV is desirable.
• Valid UK driving licence required.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose faults and perform mechanical repairs on PSV/HGV vehicles.
• Carry out scheduled servicing, inspections and preventative maintenance.
• Respond to on-road breakdowns and recoveries when required.
• Road test vehicles and ensure documentation complies with regulations and health & safety standards.
