Job summary

NMS Recruit is seeking an experienced PSV Technician for contract roles across London. You will service and repair a modern fleet of buses and PSV vehicles, with ongoing assignments and day, night or late shifts.

Ideal candidates have PSV/heavy vehicle experience, strong fault-finding skills, and own tools. PSV licence is a plus but not essential; immediate start is available.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent preferred.
• Experience maintaining buses, coaches or heavy commercial vehicles.
• Strong mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Own tools where required.
• A PSV licence is advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out routine servicing and preventative maintenance.
• Diagnosing mechanical, electrical and vehicle system faults.
• Completing mechanical repairs to PSV vehicles.
• Working on braking, suspension, steering and drivetrain systems.
• Carrying out inspections and defect rectification.
• Preparing vehicles for MOT and safety inspections.
• Using diagnostic equipment where required.
• Completing relevant maintenance documentation.

PSV Technician Contractor - London Rate: £34p/h Hours: Full-time, various shifts available Start Date: Immediate / ASAP

NMS Recruit are currently looking for experienced PSV Technicians / Bus Mechanics to support a number of busy transport operators across London.

This is an excellent opportunity for experienced PSV Engineers looking for contract work, with ongoing assignments available across a number of London workshop locations.

The Role

As a PSV Technician, you will be responsible for the maintenance, servicing and repair of a modern fleet of buses and commercial passenger vehicles.

Your duties will include:

• Carrying out routine servicing and preventative maintenance
• Diagnosing mechanical, electrical and vehicle system faults
• Completing mechanical repairs to PSV vehicles
• Working on braking, suspension, steering and drivetrain systems
• Carrying out inspections and defect rectification
• Preparing vehicles for MOT and safety inspections
• Using diagnostic equipment where required
• Completing relevant maintenance documentation
• Ensuring vehicles are maintained to DVSA and operator standards

Requirements

• Previous experience working as a PSV Technician, Bus Mechanic or Commercial Vehicle Technician
• Experience maintaining buses, coaches or heavy commercial vehicles
• NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent preferred
• Strong mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skills
• Own tools where required
• Ability to work independently within a busy workshop environment
• A PSV licence is advantageous but not essential.
