Job summary

NMS Recruit Ltd is seeking an experienced PSV Technician contractor to support busy transport operators across London. You will maintain, service and repair a modern fleet of buses and commercial passenger vehicles, ensuring DVSA and operator standards are met.

Role involves diagnosing faults, performing routine servicing, and preparing vehicles for MOTs across multiple London workshops. Immediate start with ongoing contract opportunities and day/night shifts may be available.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skills are required.
• Own tools may be required for the role.
• Ability to work independently in a busy workshop environment.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing and preventative maintenance on PSV vehicles.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical and vehicle system faults.
• Complete mechanical repairs to PSV vehicles, including brakes, suspension and drivetrain.
• Prepare vehicles for MOT and safety inspections and complete maintenance documentation.

PSV Technician Contractor - London

Rate: £34p/h

Hours: Full-time, various shifts available

Start Date: Immediate / ASAP

NMS Recruit are currently looking for experienced PSV Technicians / Bus Mechanics to support a number of busy transport operators across London.

This is an excellent opportunity for experienced PSV Engineers looking for contract work, with ongoing assignments available across a number of London workshop locations.

The Role

As a PSV Technician, you will be responsible for the maintenance, servicing and repair of a modern fleet of buses and commercial passenger vehicles.

Your duties will include:

• Carrying out routine servicing and preventative maintenance
• Diagnosing mechanical, electrical and vehicle system faults
• Completing mechanical repairs to PSV vehicles
• Working on braking, suspension, steering and drivetrain systems
• Carrying out inspections and defect rectification
• Preparing vehicles for MOT and safety inspections
• Using diagnostic equipment where required
• Completing relevant maintenance documentation
• Ensuring vehicles are maintained to DVSA and operator standards

Requirements

• Previous experience working as a PSV Technician, Bus Mechanic or Commercial Vehicle Technician
• Experience maintaining buses, coaches or heavy commercial vehicles
• NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent preferred
• Strong mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skills
• Own tools where required
• Ability to work independently within a busy workshop environment
• A PSV licence is advantageous but not essential.
