Job summary

Outcomes First Group’s 3 Dimensions School in Chard, Somerset is seeking a dedicated PSHE Teacher to provide engaging lessons and support pupils’ personal development. The role is permanent, term-time only, 30 hours per week with start in December 2026.

You will work in a supportive specialist environment, delivering PSHE, relationships and life skills, and collaborating with families and professionals to promote wellbeing and progress.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children and young people.
  • Understanding of SEN, particularly autism, or willingness to develop this.
  • Excellent relationship-building and behaviour management skills.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a team.
  • Resilience, patience and a calm, professional approach in challenging situations.
  • Passion for helping young people develop life skills.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging PSHE lessons tailored to individual needs.

Location: 3 Dimensions School, Chard, Somerset, TA20 3AJ

Hours: 30 hours per week | Monday – Friday

Salary: £25,000 per annum (not pro rata)

Contract: Permanent | Term Time Only

You'll deliver engaging, meaningful lessons that equip pupils with the knowledge, confidence and life skills they need to succeed both in school and beyond.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging PSHE lessons tailored to individual learning needs and personalised pathways.
  • Support pupils' personal development, emotional wellbeing and preparation for adulthood, including relationships and sex education.
  • Promote positive behaviour and create a safe, inclusive learning environment.
  • Support educational visits and wider curriculum activities.
  • Work closely with colleagues, families and external professionals to support pupil progress.
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to reports, reviews and multi-disciplinary meetings.
  • Safeguard and promote the welfare of every pupil at all times.

About You

  • QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
  • Experience working with children and young people.
  • An understanding of Special Educational Needs (SEN), particularly autism, or a genuine willingness to develop this expertise.
  • Excellent relationship-building and behaviour management skills.
