Job summary

Envision Education is seeking an experienced PSHE/Nurture Teacher to support pupils with SEMH needs in a specialist setting. This long-term, part-time role requires teaching every Tuesday and Wednesday.

The successful candidate will deliver PSHE and nurture-based sessions, build trusting relationships and create a safe, structured environment to develop academic and emotional skills. QTS and SEMH experience are essential; ECTs are not considered.

Qualifications

• QTS is essential.
• Previous SEMH experience is essential.
• Experience delivering PSHE, nurture or pastoral programmes desirable.
• Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils who may find mainstream education challenging.
• Enhanced DBS on Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

Job description

Envision Education is currently recruiting for an experienced PSHE / Nurture Teacher to join a specialist education setting supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

This is a long-term, part-time position working every Tuesday and Wednesday. The school is looking for an experienced and nurturing teacher who can build strong relationships with pupils and create a safe, structured and supportive environment where young people can develop both academically and emotionally.

The successful candidate will deliver engaging PSHE and nurture-based sessions, helping pupils develop their confidence, emotional regulation, resilience, social skills and understanding of relationships and wider life skills.

QTS and previous SEMH experience are essential for this position. Due to the experience required for the role, ECTs will not be considered.

Experience, Training and Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - essential.
• Previous experience working with pupils with SEMH needs - essential.
• Previous experience delivering PSHE, nurture or pastoral programmes is highly desirable.
• Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils who may find mainstream education challenging.
• Patient, resilient and nurturing approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• This position is not suitable for ECTs.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
