Job summary

Holtec is seeking a Probabilistic Safety Analysis (PSA) Engineer I to contribute to risk-informed design and safety analyses for the SMR-300 project. You will develop PRA models, support thermal-hydraulic calculations, and interface with design teams to implement PSA insights.

The role offers relocation assistance and a hybrid work model in the Almondsbury area, with opportunities to collaborate across safety analysis, licensing, and systems engineering teams.

Qualifications

• BS degree in nuclear or mechanical engineering from an accredited university.
• Familiarity with thermal-hydraulic behavior of LWRs.
• 2–4 years of PRA or thermal-hydraulic safety analysis experience.
• Eligible to work under 10 CFR Part 810.

Responsibilities

• Support development of PRA modules and thermal-hydraulic analyses under senior engineers.
• Develop Level 1 and Level 2 PRA models for internal/external events in various operating modes.
• Support RELAP5-3D/MELCOR modeling for severe accident scenarios.
• Develop event/fault trees to estimate CDF and LRF.
• Maintain PSA models as the SMR-300 design matures.
• Interface with design teams to implement PSA insights and ensure deliverable quality.
